California Foreclosure Homes

What can you say about California but what a great state. It is one of the largest and most culturally varied places to not only visit but to live. With the variety of people and the beauty of the state, it is no wonder people flock there.

California's history seems to always be filled with romantic notions. Many a writer has written about the "Golden State" and with Hollywood being filled with the dreams of romance and famous people, many try to find their future here. Now I am not sure if you know where the name California came from. It was the name of a popular novel from Spain in the 16th century! Back then; California was thought to be an island because of the way the land was formed.

Then the gold rush - could be where the name "Golden State" came from - brought lots of people from across the country to find their riches. It began in 1848 when a man named Marshall found this sparkling nugget that soon became the gold rush fever that spread across the county and the world. The city of San Francisco soon became the resting grounds for all of the gold seekers. Here is an interesting fact, during this gold rush period, 90,000 immigrants came to this country seeking fortune. This is about the time, in 1850, California entered the statehood and became the 31st state.

Sacramento is the capital of California and was founded in 1849. But it all began in 1839, when a man named Sutter settled there. He was given 48,000 acres, wow, that is alot of land. When the gold was discovered, well, the rest is history. This city was home to the pony express and the first cross country railroad.

California is such a diverse state. The northern part 4 seasons, the south is desert-like. It has beautiful greenery and majestic mountains. The east is land endowed, the west is all ocean. The sunsets are to die for and the forests of the redwood trees is just breathtaking. It is home to that famous mouse Mickey and has a wonderful zoo in San Diego. This is a place that, almost everyone, considers paradise.

California is home to many a vineyard where some of the best wines come out of. About 17 million gallons of the voluptuous drink, is made in California every year. Citrus, such as oranges and grapefruit are a high commodity.

California's cost of living is very high, or should I say, it tops the list. Because of that, foreclosures are abundant. That is where we come in at ForeclosureListings.com.
